Barons Baseball ended their season on Saturday, dropping to Quince Orchard with an 8-5 final score.
The Barons opened as the game favorites in their match against Quince Orchard but dropped early runs to the Cougars. Quince Orchard’s Garrett Campbell and Jack Kondrin put up RBIs in the first inning and laid it on as the game continued. After six runs, Senior Bobby Burk came in for relief and closed out three and two-thirds innings, only giving up two runs. After going down 8-1, the Barons kept battling til the end, and a two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning by Senior Pierce Tewksbury brought the Barons back into the game. With two on and two outs in the seventh, Sophomore Alex Shure struck out swinging to end it. “I wish it had ended differently, but I really love the team chemistry we have and will miss these guys a lot,” said Senior Captain Adam Niman.
The Barons had a tough ending to their 15-5 season. However, many of their players will return next year in hopes to recreate the overall success of this season.
