Following a rough week, the B-CC softball team looked to bounce back against the Northwest Jaguars. The Barons traveled to Northwest and jumped out to an early lead, scoring five runs in the first inning. However, the Barons could not hold the lead as Northwest stormed back and ended up beating the Barons 19-9. Junior Eliza Schreiber-Bradtke led the team with three hits and Junior Grace Stevens got the start pitching. The Barons collected 14 total errors in the game, which led to the Jaguars winning by mercy in the fifth inning.
The Barons next played at Quince Orchard, hoping to get back into the win column. The team took an early lead against the Cougars and did not let up. Schreiber-Bradtke led the team with five hits and pushed the Barons to a 15-4 win. “Our energy has been great, and we’ve been able to bounce back from some tough losses,” she said. Stevens earned the win, allowing 10 hits and only four runs in a dominant performance.
Softball took a tough loss Thursday night against Clarksburg by a score of 6-3. B-CC hopes to rally against John F. Kennedy this Saturday and get some momentum before the playoffs start.
