On Tuesday, Jan. 23, the B-CC Indoor Track and Field team competed in the Montgomery County Indoor Championships at Poolesville High School.
Girls Varsity finished in 14th place with 17 total points. Junior Sophie Harjes placed third in the Women’s 3200, and Juniors Nya Stoian, Danielle Krinn, Morgan Kirsch, and Amelia Menefee combined to finish second in the Women’s 4×800 Relay.
Boys Varsity finished in 17th place with 6 points. Junior Jasper Sandmeyer led the team, placing fifth in the Men’s High Jump.
Following the race, Sandmeyer said, “It was an awesome experience, and I was surprised to do well, considering I am just starting.”
B-CC will look to keep rolling at the MPSSAA 4A West Region Championships on Monday, Feb. 5. The Barons aim to finish their season on a high note in the coming weeks.
