The National Honors Society (NHS) conducted a food drive to collect non-perishable items from Dec. 4 to Dec. 20.
B-CC staff and students contributed a total of 503 cans to the drive for Shepherd’s Table and the B-CC food pantry. Shepherd’s Table is an organization that supports those who experience food insecurity, homelessness, and poverty in the local community. The B-CC food pantry supports students at the school who have similar circumstances.
“The purpose of the food drive was to help out in our community,” said Senior Dean Hammerman, President of B-CC’s NHS and the organizer of the drive. “We decided to run the food drive during the holidays, because it’s the perfect time to give back.”
Although the NHS food drive is over, there are many other ways students can contribute to the community. From additional food donations to serving holiday meals, there are dozens of ways to spread holiday spirit and joy.
