Going into the break on a high, 3-0 in their last three games, B-CC Boys Basketball is officially red hot.
The biggest game of the year so far did not disappoint, with the Barons rolling through their rivals, Walter Johnson High School 63-51 on Tuesday, Dec. 19. B-CC burst out of the gates and grabbed a strong lead in the first quarter. They maintained the lead for the rest of the game. The Wildcats attempted a come back in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late. Senior Captain Nate Bromberger led all scorers with 16 points. After the game, Bromberger said, “It is always great to beat such a big rival and compete with my teammates on the court every day.”
Walter Johnson will have a chance at redemption Friday, Feb. 2 on their home court. B-CC fans, known to travel to rivalry games, may shake their opponent’s confidence, even on their home court.
Last Friday, Dec. 15, the boys secured another win when they traveled to Springbrook High School. In a close-fought, back-and-forth game, the Barons held on to win by five with a final score of 62-57. Senior Center Adam Strong-Jacobson had an impressive double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
Last night, Dec. 21, the boys took on Albert Einstein High School, cruising past the Titans 48-38.
