The swim and dive team has much to look forward to this season in terms of their state championship hopes. Last year, the girls finished second in their division. The boys were also successful last year, finishing their season in fifth place.
From the girl’s swim team, the girls seek to dig deep into a strong 2024 and 2025 class who have been contributing towards the team’s success even before the seniors left. Sophomore Virginia Hinds, along with Junior Addison Mostofi, seek to drive their team to the top of their division this year.
The boy’s seek to build off of a disappointing 2022-23 campaign with a fresh set of rowers ready to make their mark on a wide-open division. Junior Beckett Christman, along with Junior Clayton Waterman, look to lead the boys this year in their road to states.
Before the season, Senior Kris Lakhe shared, “I think we have a chance to be very strong this year, and I am excited to go into a fresh season with this group of people and go win some meets.”
The dive team lost only a couple of divers this past season who were seniors, so they look to return to form this next season. Sophomore Dylan Imirowicz is a key part of the boy’s dive team as he placed fourth in the Maryland State Diving Championships this past year and is eyeing gold this season.
Their season begins this Saturday, Dec. 2, against Walter Johnson at 9:15 AM. Show out in support of your Baron swimmers and divers!
