Barons Ice Hockey faced the DC Stars last Friday, Nov. 17 at Rockville Ice Arena. Just like last week, B-CC dominated for all three periods, winning by a score of 9-2.
The Barons wasted no time scoring with an early unassisted goal by Senior Captain Matthew Duffy, followed by another unassisted goal by Senior Aleksandr Talty. The DC Stars then bounced back scoring a goal of their own to end the first period with B-CC leading 2-1.
The DC Stars started off the second period strong with an equalizing goal. The Barons quickly bounced back when Senior Collin Eccles scored a goal of his own, assisted by Sophomore Peter Lanpher and Senior Alex Elias. Duffy scored his second goal of the game, assisted once again by Lanpher and Elias. Senior Sebastian Harrison kept the goal-scoring streak going with one of his own, assisted by Eccles and Duffy. Eccles then scored his second goal of the game to end the second period with the Barons leading 6-2.
Later in the game, Harrison scored his second goal of the game, assisted by Sophomore Grady Jiggens. Then, Jiggens scored a goal, assisted by Elias. Eccles scored his third goal of the game, earning himself his second hat trick of the season, assisted by Duffy and Lanpher.
When asked about the effect their winning streak has on the team, Senior Captain Matthew Duffy said, “It has had a huge positive effect, especially after the slow start to the season we had. It gives us confidence and proves that we can be a successful team.”
The Barons look to continue their winning streak on Friday, Dec. 1 at Rockville Ice Arena against Walt Whitman High School.
