Girls Volleyball finished strong in their normal season with an 11-3 record and look forward beginning playoffs.
The Barons have won three games in a row in the past two weeks. On Oct. 19, they won 3-0 against Richard Montgomery High School. On the following Monday, Oct. 23, the girls swept Blair 3-0 at home. They went on the road for the final regular season game, defeating Watkins Mill 3-0, as well.
This season as been a complete 180 degree turn from last year as the team has transformed last season’s uninspiring 5-8 record into a dominant 11-3 record this year. Junior Carolina Parkhurst said, “This year our team seems a lot more connected, and we play more like a team than individuals.” This teamwork has no doubt assisted the team in rallying to a much improved record. Senior Captain Scarlett Potter reiterated, “There is a strong dynamic that correlates on and off the court as teammates and friends.”
The Barons have shown growth and resilience as a team, and are poised to continue their domination far into the playoffs. The girls will learn which team they will face in their first round matchup in the coming weeks, as seeding is currently underway.
