As the regular season came to a close, the B-CC Field Hockey team is rolling into playoffs, boasting an impressive 10-2 record.
They recorded a win against Montgomery Blair High School last Saturday in their season finale, winning their 8th consecutive game.
The game was a close one, but the Barons are no strangers to tight games, playing their sixth match that ended within two goals of each other. The defense held strong once again, keeping Montgomery Blair to one goal. Junior Elisha Robinson scored both goals, allowing B-CC to beat Blair with a final score of 2-1.
When asked about how they keep winning these close games, Robinson made clear how much selflessness and team chemistry play a role in their hot win streak. She said, “It was a great team win, and a really fun game. We were all excited for the team sleepover after, which made the energy even better.” The team has grown closer throughout the season, and it is clearly showing out on the field.
The girls secured a first-round playoff home game and are playing rivals Walter Johnson High School. This team is red hot at the right time, and they are looking to bring home a state championship before the season is over.
