Last Friday, B-CC Girls Soccer took care of business against John. F. Kennedy High School with a winning score of 10-0. Sophomore Olivia Ullman started in goal for the Barons and shut down the Cavaliers, allowing no goals in throughout the 90 minute game. Senior Logan Tongberg continued her historic season with another hat trick for the Barons. But the Barons could not relax, as Senior Night crept up on Monday night at the Guck.
The Barons honored 14 seniors on Senior Night, including manager Sadie Virbickas, who unfortunately tore her ACL and meniscus prior to the season and was unable to suit up for B-CC her senior year. With a starting line up of entirely seniors for the Barons, B-CC looked to make a statement win against the Titans. The Barons dominated the game with defense and offense clicking throughout the game. B-CC won the game 8-3 and celebrated a huge Senior Night win.
However, the win was not the evening’s only achievement for the record books. Senior Logan Tongberg scored 5 goals in the game which put her at 27 goals for the season. This accomplishment was not only impressive but a record for B-CC Girls Soccer. No girl had ever scored as many goals as Logan in a single season before. Logan said, “It is really cool to break the record, especially since it has been so long since someone has done it.” With such a dangerous player, it is easy to understand why the county will have the Barons to beat in order to win it all this year.
