Tensions were at an all-time high last Friday as the Girls Field Hockey team took on Thomas Wootton High School. Cards were handed out left and right as Senior Sydney Seiler and Sophomore Maya Shweiki both picked one up during the game. The physical game came to a quick halt when Senior Tessy Schreyer got hit in the head by a high stick and was removed from the game. After a few stitches, Tessy Schreyer will be back on the field next week.
The Barons prevailed in the end, winning the tight game 2-1 with Juniors Roxy Thompson and Elisha Robinson each netting a goal.
Coming off the high-intensity game, the ‘rons rolled over Walter Johnson in their spirit game, winning by a convincing score of 3-0. They came out fast, scoring quickly, and dominated the whole game from the jump. Senior Captain Oona Buckley led the scoring, who made two of the Barons’ three goals last Monday, with Elisha Robinson shooting the final goal, yet again.
The defense continues to dominate every opponent, holding Wootton to one goal and shutting out another one of B-CC’s rivals, Walter Johnson.
Looking ahead, the Girls Field Hockey team finishes out their week this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. back home against Damascus High School. They are looking to improve their 6-2 record and extend their impressive four-game winning streak.
Next week, they travel away on Wednesday to take on Northwest High School. Good luck Barons!
