B-CC evened their record to .500 last Friday, crushing the Kennedy Cavaliers in a dominant 48-0 shutout.
The Homecoming match was less of a game than a beatdown as the Barons quickly rose to the top of the scoreboard. Following the force of a quick 3 and out for Kennedy, the Barons capitalized on their good field position when Andri Ekani put the ball in the end zone from 12 yards out in a single play. Following another 3 and out from Kennedy, the Barons tacked on 7 more points when Senior Carson Griffey showed his arm with a 20-yard touchdown pass to fellow Senior Pierce Tewksbury. The Barons took on two more touchdowns from Junior Lucas Scribner, and Senior Khari Rodgers before the first quarter ended. The onslaught wouldn’t end there; B-CC put up 3 touchdowns in the final 3 quarters while not allowing Kennedy to score any points during the whole game.
Following the game, Senior Carson Griffey said, “It’s always nice to win those games in front of the home crowd, but honestly our focus, week in and week out, is to each individually do our job. We want to get better each week. With a tough game against Northwest this week, hopefully, we can go out there and do our jobs in order to put ourselves in a better position to win the majority of the games left this season.”
Although every win counts the same, Kennedy entered the game with 0 points scored this entire season. As Griffey noted, next week B-CC travels to Northwest for a clash with the undefeated Jaguars on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
