Dunk Alzhemiers hosted their annual basketball tournament on June 3, 2023. “It went very well as we had over 100 people in attendance and raised 27 thousand dollars,” said junior Max Veksler, the creator of the event.

All the proceedings from the tournament were given to https://www.usagainstalzheimers.org/. Dunk Alzhemiers also had numerous sponsors such as Bethesda Acura, Google, and Morgan Stanley Zaft McKinney group.

“I had a great time” said junior Danny Loughlin, adding, “It was great to able to support such a great cause in such a fun way”

“We started this project in 2019 in honor of my great aunt Lisa who passed away from Alzheimer’s earlier that year and my abuela titi who has been suffering with this awful disease. We have continued this fundraiser to raise money and awareness to help find a cure for Alzheimer’s,” said Veksler, adding, “Our goal is to raise 30 thousand dollars next year.” You can support Dunk Alzheimer’s by donating on their website https://kidzendalz.com/ here.
