Softball Plays Hard Ball

Softball’s successful previous season prompted high expectations for this year, and the Barons have more than delivered. The B-CC Softball Team started off with a solid record of 3-2 but resolved to do better. Captain Devin Brindle said, “We are improving everyday and bonding together better as a team,” and that team-focused playing style has translated into success. The Barons went on to win nine out of their last eleven games, which included massive results over their regional rivals, Walt Whitman High School. And the Barons have not just been winning, they have been dominating their opponents with runaway games of 17-2 versus Paint Branch and Einstein, 14-1 against Wootton, 13-0 against Blake, 17-7 against Northwest, and a crushing 10-0 shutout victory against Rockville. Overall, it seems that the team’s strongest point is their tremendous offense, with a deep hitting lineup frustrating many opposing pitchers. The Barons’ multiple wins by ten or more proves that this team is not messing around and are locked in for the upcoming playoffs. The Barons were granted a first round bye and will play Richard Montgomery at home.
