A Little Bit of Rain Can’t Stop the Barons
Last Friday, the Barons had their home game against Northwest suspended due to rain after one and two-thirds innings of play. The game is set to resume on Tuesday, May 2nd. Before getting rained out, the boys had an early lead thanks to a leadoff home run from junior Adam Niman that went over the right-center field fence. Senior Pat Micheel started off hot on the mound as well, striking out four batters and holding Northwest scoreless through the first two innings.
On Tuesday, the Barons dropped a tough game against Blake with a close 2-1 loss. Though the ball was being hit well by the boys, the gaps in the Barons’ defense were hard to fill. Even in the loss, we witnessed a strong performance from Junior Bobby Burk, who threw five and one-third innings with only 1 earned run and 11 strikeouts. Senior Miles Kessler, Burk’s reliever, also pitched well, striking out two of the three batters he faced.
On Thursday, the Barons lost another tough one against Sherwood, getting mercy ruled after five innings by a score of 11-1.
The boys look to bounce back next week in their final three games of the season at home against Paint Branch on Saturday, away at Einstein next Wednesday, and at home against Rockville next Friday for senior night!
