The Baron Baseballers Start the Heater

Last Friday, the baseball team lost their rivalry game against Whitman 4-2. The Barons played a strong game, highlighted by two-and-a-half innings of scoreless baseball from senior pitcher Patrick Micheel. On the offensive side, the boys tallied five hits, with two coming from junior Bobby Burke, and two coming from sophomore Trent Lopez. This was the game to watch with large crowds in both the Whitman and Baron bleachers.
With their record falling to 6-6, the Barons needed a win to get back on track.
They answered the call when they won 7-5 against Wootton. The Barons got off to a hot start early in the game, with a four-run first inning. The Wootton Patriots fought back though and tied the game after the third inning. They then went run for run until, in the bottom of the 6th, junior Noah Light launched a two-run home run to right field, setting up junior Adam Niman for the save in the seventh. Not to mention a strong five innings of four-run baseball from junior Bobby Burke, who was also successful at the plate with two hits.
The boys look to continue their recent success of three wins in four games with an away matchup against Richard Montgomery Thursday.
