B-CC’s Robotics Team Goes to Worlds

“Everyone has put in a lot of work, and that work has paid off”

The Robo Barons, B-CC’s Robotics Team, qualified for the Robotics World Championship, which will take place on April 25. The team ranked high at the VEX Robotics Maryland VRC High School State Championship on March 5, to punch their ticket to Worlds, “Overall, I’m super proud of all the teams,” commented Rohan Bhattacharyya, one of the team presidents. “I’m looking forward to seeing B-CC send them to Worlds.”

During the qualification round of the state championship, Team A placed seventh. However, they were eliminated in the first round after qualifying. During the skills change, in which robots are given points based on how well they carry out different tasks, Team C placed sixth after scoring 222 points, earning them a spot in the world championship.

“We are excited to see the best teams in the world, and we are extremely grateful that we have been able to get this far. Everyone has put in a lot of work, and that work has paid off,” said Evan “BC” Winik, a member of the robotics team.
