An 18-year-old man from Silver Spring is facing multiple rape and sexual assault charges after being connected to a case in a Bethesda LA Fitness center. According to the police, Samba Dieng was arrested at his home on Wednesday, October 26, and charged with second-degree rape, fourth-degree sexual offense, and two counts of sexual assault.

Police were called to the gym after two women reported being sexually assaulted while showering in the women’s locker room. Detectives landed on Dieng as a suspect because he had a membership card and was seen at multiple LA Fitness centers in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County.

Noah Kaye, a B-CC senior and gym member, was disgusted by this news, stating that “no one should have to experience what those women did.” Kaye also believes that employees should be trained on identifying, preventing, and stopping sexual harassment.
