No baseball fan could have predicted that three years after the National’s improbable World Series run, the Nats would hold the worst record in all of baseball, trade away many great players including Max Scherzer, Trea Turner, and Juan Soto, and see their rivals, the Mets, sign Scherzer the next offseason. Not to mention owner Ted Learner exploring the option of selling the team. Fans went from seeing their team hang a World Series banner to seeing a completely new team taking the field in a blink of an eye. There is no doubt it’s going to be a long road ahead as Nats fans wait for their team to succeed.
